Space technology for sustainable development and disaster management: opportunities within the United Nations system

The 3 rd open informal session on "Space technology for sustainable development and disaster management: opportunities within the United Nations system" was held on 20 January 2006 in Paris in conjunction with the 26 th session of the United Nation Inter-Agency Meeting on Outer Space Activities.

The session was organized by the Office for Outer Space Affairs in cooperation with  the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

Presentations  were made by representatives of the Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) , United Nations Institute for Training and Research Operational Satellite Applications Programme (UNOSAT), World Food Programme (WFP), and United Nations Office on Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR).
