Space technology for disaster management: opportunities within the United Nations system

The 2 nd open informal session on "Space technology for disaster management: opportunities within the United Nations system" was held on 2 February 2005 in Vienna in conjunction with the 25 th session of the United Nation Inter-Agency Meeting on Outer Space Activities.

The session was organized by the Office for Outer Space Affairs.

Presentations  were made by a representative of China and representatives of the Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), United Nations Institute for Training and Research Operational Satellite Applications Programme (UNOSAT), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), United Nations Office on Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR), World Health Organization (WHO), and the  Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO) of the Secretariat.
