Celebrating 50 Years of Women in Space

Marking the fiftieth anniversary of the first space flight by a woman, cosmonaut Valentina V. Tereshkova on 16 June 1963, the following events will be held during the 56th session of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, 12-21 June 2013:

13 June 2013: Public panel on "Women in Space: The Next 50 Years" at the Natural History Museum, Vienna
- Panelists include cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova and other inspiring women astronauts, including Roberta Bondar (Canada), Janet L. Kavandi (USA), Chiaki Mukai (Japan) and Liu Yang (China), will share their experiences in human space flight. Moderated by cosmonaut Dumitru-Dorin Prunariu, Association of Space Explorers.
