UNOOSA participates at Monaco Women Forum 2025

Monaco, 21st March 2025 - The Monaco Women Forum 2025, held under the esteemed patronage of H.S.H. Princess Charlene of Monaco, brought together leading female experts, innovators, scientists, and decision-makers to discuss "The New Space Race." The event served as a dynamic platform for insightful discussions on the evolving landscape of technology, climate strategy, quantum innovation, and global cooperation in the field of space.

Panel 1 highlighted the ever-more actual topic of using space technologies and data for the protection and management of ecosystems on Earth. Panel 2 focused on an inovative topic of quantum communication and human space exploration

Among the key highlights was Panel 3: "Trust and Collaboration," where Ms. Rosanna Deim-Hoffmann, lead of the Space Law project, delivered an in-depth overview of the history and fragility of the five United Nations treaties on outer space. She emphasized the challenges of enforcing regulations in an increasingly expanding sector and underscored the importance of global adherence to these frameworks. This discussion aligns closely with the mission of the Space Law project, which seeks to enhance awareness among UN Member States and strengthen their commitment to the treaties negotiated by the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS).

The Monaco Women Forum 2025 reaffirmed its role as an important gathering for forward-thinking dialogue on critical topics shaping the future of space and technology.
